Asynx Planetarium ist ein einfach zu bedienendes Planetariumprogramm und Solarsystemsimulator. Es zeigt den Sternenhimmel von jedem Ort der Erde zwischen 1760 und 9999. Über 10000 Sterne, alle Planeten, die 88 Sternbilder, alle Messier Objekte und die Mondphase werden sehr schnell dargestellt. Eigene Orte können bequem eingegeben werden. Ein schnelles Umschalten zwischen den Orten zeigt wie der Sternenhimmel zur gleichen Zeit an verschiedenen Orten der Erde aussieht. Die Animationen zeigen, wie die Sterne am Nordpol um Polaris kreisen und am Aequator vorbeiziehen. Interessant ist auch zu sehen, wie sich die Sonne zur Mittagszeit durch das Jahr bewegt. Im Echtzeitmodus wird der Bildschirm immer auf dem aktuellen Stand gehalten. In der Heliozentrischen Ansicht kann sieht man die Planeten um die Sonne kreisen. Perfekt für Schüler und Kinder die damit spielerisch die Sternbilder kennenlernen können.
